Let Go Let Fro Friday!!: What's in YOUR spray bottle?

What's in YOUR spray bottle? I'm currently using water & glycerin as a hair refresher. Glycerin being a humectant helps to draw the moisture into he hair cuticle. Water as most naturals know is our hair's best friend when it comes I moisturizing. I've also done other variations like water & aloe vera juice. Aloe vera juice as I have said in past posts helps to seal and tighten he cuticle.  There's also water, aloe and oils which helps to moisturize tighten and seal. So many variations!!! It's always good to have that spray bottle to revive your hair when retwisting or to help moisturize before setting a style. So, what's in yours?

Makeup Talk: My Current Favorite Lippie

Anyone who follows me on IG or is my friend on ANY social network you know I LOVE a red lip! But I didn't fall in love with a red lip til I met MAC Ruby Woo!!!! Lol. This post is about my love affair with Ruby Woo!!

Matte IS where it's at!!

So I'm not one to splurge and spend a crazy amount of money in one tube of lipstick when I can get variety/quantity for the price. A bit frugal and not ashamed! I'm usually grabbing some Wet & Wild and calling it a day! But anyway every now and then I treat myself to some MAC goodness!! Over this past summer after hearing so many amazing things about Ruby Woo, I gave in and made the purchase. To make a long story short, my love affair began and boy does it run deep! Lol. These days most if the time if you see me with makeup on it's a red Ruby Woo hugging my lips!

The Wrap-up

If you're looking for that warm and fuzzy feeling from your lipstick Ruby Woo is where it's at for me! If you aren't sure about trying a red lipstick, try Ruby Woo!! Honesty before Ruby Woo I was annoyed by the red lipstick if try. Nothing seemed to look right on me but then I found my boo, Ruby Woo!! Lol. Just try it ;-*

As always I thank you for reading!

Hairfinity VS Manetabolism: Research Before Choosing

In preparation for the @KoilyKute Hair Growth Challenge I decided to look into the two hair growth supplements I want to compare, Hairfinity and Manetabolism. This post is mainly of review/comparison of the websites.

Hairfinity

I have been eyeing this product for awhile now (Before Manetabolism). The bottle is quite appealing, cute and pink..lol. Packaging makes a big impression on a potential customer believe it or not! So let's get into the pros and cons of the website!

Pros

• Appealing Site!
• Bright and pretty easy to navigate
• Includes Testimonials, Key ingredients, benefits etc..
• Offers consultations
• Product packages and prices clearly stated
•Clearly for all hair types

Cons

Couldn't find an FAQ section making the process of getting answers when choosing the product even harder

Manetabolism

A fairly new product, I've heard a lot about the results and I'm excited to try it! Many people claim the results are better than that of Hairfinity (hint: the purpose of this challenge). So let's get into the pros and cons.

Pros

Ease if navigation
• Progress/result photos
• Testimonials
• Includes FAQ which answered a few of my personal questions
• Product packages and pricing are clear
• Clearly for all hair types
• Created by a known natural hair YTer (CourtneyNaturalHair)
• States for women and men

Cons

Not as bright and appealing as Hairfinity
• Darker design (website and packaging)

I'll continue to do my research and give the rules/details of the challenge in future posts!

Thanks for reading!

Stay Koily and Kute ;-*

Get to Know Me & My Story

I realized that I have been writing to you beauties without introducing myself. How dare I? Lol. So allow me to officially share who I am with you.
Who am I?

My name is Sam, I'm 21 years old and I have been natural for 4 years. My hair texture is primarily 4b/4c but I do have a few spots with looser curl pattern 3c/4a. I am a proud mother with one son age 2 and currently expecting my daughter any day now.

What's the purpose of my blog?

The main purpose of my blog is to share what I have learned and am still learning about my hair and beauty. I've always loved writing and this is a way to combine both! I also want to be a resource for those who aren't yet in love with their thicker, coilier, kinkier textured hair and need some motivation. Overall, it's about sharing. Let's share what we know to better every aspect of loving ourselves and being healthy!

My Hair Story

A year prior to my big chop I had grown my hair out all summer with only a little relaxed hair at the ends. I loved the puff I had but just before school started I decide to relax again. At the time I really knew very little about being natural and it hadn't really become too big of a thing though some family members had decided to wear their natural texture. Once I relaxed my hair I didn't like it. I missed my natural texture which surprised me. I had been relaxed for as long as I could remember and never wanted anything else. Though I missed it, it was the norm, it was routine for me. New growth meant touch up! Lol. That was how I was conditioned like many ladies. To make an already long story short, that year I kept with it. I did weaves, and relaxers and kept it movin. When summer 2010 came I was off to college (yes I'm a youngin) I wanted a new look so I cut my hair short, kind of a Rhianna inspired cut. Still relaxed but I loved it. It wasn't till that December, after relaxing and coloring and growing out my short cut and watching YT videos on going natural/the bc, that I decided to do it. Cut it all off and have a TWA. I didn't like it as much as I thought though I still preferred being natural. I immediately got my hair braided..lol.

Why I ReChopped?

Oh my goodness! So this is a question I was asked a million times when I did it (Aug 2013). To keep it short and sweet, I had new understanding I my natural hair and had experienced a change in curl pattern and breakage from permanent coloring/ improper moisturizing. Just like that! I was tired of the two textures both at the root and midway to the end. Now I'm  one of those people that loves short hair so it was go hard or go home! Not only did I cut off the damaged hair, I cut my hair to a pixie.

That's pretty much it. I love my hair and want others to fall in love with their hair as I have. No matter what the texture, love those tresses, Boo!

As always I thank you for reading!

Stay Koily and Kute ;-*
