My First Week Eating Vegan

It's 2015 & if you don't know by now, I decided that in this new year I would "go vegan". Although it may seem simple to the average person, if you have not done your research you will find yourself lost in a meatless, animal-free sea! So how did I survive?

Mentality. I trained my self to mentally embrace a meatless lifestyle for months before the new year started. If you focus on missing meat, you WILL miss meat. Focus on inventing new creations & meal planning.

Meal Planning. Meal Planning was big for me and it started at the grocery store! I made sure I bought ingredients for the meals, snacks, & smoothies I was going to have.

Protein. In a meat-based diet most of not all of your protein intake comes from meat (and eggs). In a plant-based diet you must get your protein from plant-based sources such as tofu, some meatless protein products, and vegan protein powder.

As I move forward on my vegan journey I can't wait to get creative with meals & flavors! There's so many possibilities. It's not about what you "can't" eat but what you can create with what you can eat!
